WALTON, Ky (WKRC) – The North Kentucky Health Department says that the chickenpox outbreak at Walton School has so far spread to 32 students
This outbreak occurred at the Sacred Heart of God Mother / Occupation Academy. The Department of Health said most of the affected students were not fully immunized. The health department appeals to the community that anyone who is not vaccinated against varicella can receive immunization.
"Although we are working with the school to get sick from the beginning of February, the Department of Health has recently noticed an increase in the number of infected schoolchildren, which has prompted us to take further control measures at school and inform the public that chicken pox may be in the community," said Dr. Lynne Saddler, North Region Health Director.
