A study by the health department is now underway.
The video posted on social media shows a huge crowd gathered in front of the stage and, to put it mildly.
A charity concert in Southampton over the weekend was planned as an entrance with 500 cars and about 2,000 people.
“We take this very seriously,” Cuomo said. He added that the town and village of Southampton may now face criminal offenses.
The state health commissioner asked the campus to report exactly what happened and why the permit was issued during the investigation.
Below is NY Health Commissioner Dr. Letter from Howard Zucker:
I am sure you know that the state of New York is declared a state of emergency since 2020. March 7 Due to the prevalence of COVID-19. I know you are aware of the many efforts that this state, along with many local municipalities, has made to combat it. The governor’s executive orders require social isolation, as well as restrictions on business and other activities, such as until 2020. August 20 It is not allowed to collect more than fifty persons according to the order 202.53.
As Commissioner for Health, I have also issued a number of health rules and urgent instructions to protect public health and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
In this regard, I am very disturbed by the reports of a drive-in concert in your city last weekend, which was apparently attended by thousands of people up close, from their vehicles, in a VIP area where the vehicle was not impersonated and generally does not follow social exclusion advice. I am unfortunate about how the City of Southampton was able to authorize an event that they thought was a legitimate rather than an obvious threat to public health.
Please notify me within 24 hours of the following:
– Has the town issued a permit for the concert?
– If a permit was issued, how did the permit comply with applicable national and COVID-19 laws?
– If a permit were issued, what security presence did you plan for at the concert?
– Which city officials attended the concert and why was it allowed to continue when it became clear that the violations were rampant?
Please be informed that all answers to these questions are submitted to the State Department conducting the investigation, and any submission will be considered an oath.
