Humboldt County Joint Information Center press release:
Three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported today. The total population of the counties infected with the virus is 231.
Of these three cases, two people became infected with the virus through contact with a known case, and the transmission of the third case is being investigated. A total of 14 cases are being investigated.
Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich noted that since the beginning of the pandemic, there has been a wave of new cases in the county, followed by relatively quiet periods of transmission of the detected virus.
“The epidemiological curve in the dashboard shows that the current wave continues for more than a month,”; said Dr. Frankovich. This increase in local disease activity is a reminder that safety measures are more important than ever. We have the opportunity to dramatically change the environment in which viruses spread in our community, helping to keep our business open and facilitating school education for our children. “
Today, the alert level is three. Visit humboldtgov.org/dashboard to view the County Alert Level Assessment Tool.
