The orbiter is tasked with examining methane sources on Mars, which may or may not be

The European Space Agency / Roscosmos has developed its first photos of the Martian surface. Survival Imaging System (CaSSIS) are images of NASA's InSight lander, Columbus crater and a strange 'hairy' structure

NASA's lander, Science Alert report says. The spacecraft, heat shield and parachute can be seen on the surface of the planet.

Another stunning image is a strange hairy-looking structure that appears as a suggestive biological form. NASA scientists believe the structure may be "hundreds of maybe even less of Martian tornadoes, also known as 'dust devils.'

"The actual color, the streaks would appear dark red," the press release says.

TGO, developed by Russia's Roscosmos and the European Space Agency is also part of the ExoMars program, which has been found in the Martian atmosphere.

The presence of methane may indicate either biological or seismological activity. If methane traces were discovered in propane or ethane, it would suggest that life once existed is Mars.
