A 33-year-old Glee star was buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park on July 24, according to a CNN death certificate. The Hollywood Hills Cemetery is the final resting place for many celebrities, including Paul Walker, Carrie Fisher, Bette Davis and Liberace.
Rivera sank on Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, after his son was released on a chartered boat. It took the seekers several days to find her body, but a medical expert found, according to the death certificate, that she had sunk in a few minutes.
No other significant factors that contributed to Rivera’s death were listed.
Joseph, 4-year-old son Rivera, was found asleep on a floating boat when the pontoon boat was not returned to the charter company in time.
The creators of Fox’s Glee said in a statement that they were “heartbroken” due to the death of the actress, who played Santana Lopez for six seasons.
Their statement added: “Naya was more than just an actress in our show – she was our girlfriend.”
