It is still unclear whether the agreement will force Samsung to abandon Bixby and its app store altogether, or how Bloomberg says whether those services just need to be less integrated into their devices. No company approved the negotiations when the publication requested a statement.
A Google spokesman said:
“Like all Android device manufacturers, Samsung is free to build its own app store and digital assistant. This is one of the great features of the Android platform. And while we̵7;re constantly discussing with partners how to improve the user experience, we’re not going to change that. “
Samsung’s statement reads:
“Samsung remains committed to its ecosystem and services. At the same time, Samsung is working closely with Google and other partners to give our users the best mobile experience. “
