So far, it is clear that there will be at least three Versions of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, depending on whether they have a 5G connection and from the chipset from which they are powered. Rumors Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (whatever Samsung calls) the model without 5G connection is the model number SM-N985F.
As usual, the numbering indicates that this is an international version of Exynos, and surprisingly, not all carriers abroad are in 5G rat racing, such as Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile. The SM-N985F listed by the FCC clearly lacks 5G frequency support on all of these connections.
On the other hand, there is a model marked as SM-G986B, which is a version of Exynos with a 5G connector, again for the international market. However, the US version of Snapdragon will only be available with a 5G modem enabled.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G Exynos vs. Snapdragon Chipset Performance Benchmarks
All those reports that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G will come with some enhanced set of Chips for the Exynos 990, its global version, seems too early. An Exynos version with model number SM-G986B has just been released Geébench, MySmartPrice found and collected less than the SM-G986U version with the Snapdragon chipset earned.
It actually combines the average performance of the Galaxy S20 Ultra with the same amount of RAM and chipset, so it looks like there won’t be the miraculous performance of the Exynos 990 in the overall version of the Note 20 Ultra.
Fortunately, for U.S. reasons related to carrier networks and Qualcomm modem patents, Snapdragon 865+, which will further widen the gap with the Exynos version.
If we have to compare it to the first Snapdragon 865+ handset we have tested, it is ours A review of the ROG Phone 3 shows that it has rated the Geenekch 5 multi-core benchmark 3369, so the difference in performance can be quite significant.
Of course, this may not be the retail version of the handset, and the actual numbers are not as important as turning on the chokes and heating under pressure, as well as the graphics performance that Samsung reportedly pointed out for the additional cooling and Exynos 990. optimization, so we’ll just have to wait and test ourselves.
