But footage footage shows that Gohmert and Barr are walking in close contact without wearing a mask.
Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec said Barr would be investigated for coronavirus on Wednesday.
At one Tuesday meeting, President Jerry Nadler (DN.Y.) apologized to several Republicans for taking off their masks, even though Gohmert was not among those he intimidated.
“I would like to remind Mr. Jordanui, p. Biggui and p. Johnson to stop violating the committee’s rules, “said Nadler, referring to Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Arizona spokesman Andy Biggs and Louisiana spokesman Mike Johnson, three GS lawmakers. “Stop violating the safety of committee members. Stop treating yourself carelessly by refusing to wear masks.”;
“Is it possible to drink a sip of coffee?” One of the members asked.
“It’s not allowed,” Nadler replied.
In Twitter, Nadler wrote, “I want to wish @replouiegohmert a full and quick recovery. When individuals refuse to take the necessary precautions, it puts everyone at risk. I have been constantly advising all members to wear masks and I hope this is a lesson for all my colleagues. ”
House majority leader Steny Hoyer robbed Gohmert and some of his GOP counterparts for not often wearing masks at the Capitol.
“Too many Republicans continue to behave particularly irresponsibly, including Louie Gohmert. Louie Gohmert should quarantine herself now, “Hoyer told reporters.
Hoyer added that the requirement for lawmakers to be regularly checked for the virus should be reconsidered on Capitol Hill.
Connie Hair, Gohmert’s chief of staff, declined to comment. However, after the publication of this article, Gohmert personally informed his aides that he was infected.
