Regis Philbino’s family reveals that he is now buried at the University of Notre Dame after a private funeral in the Sacred Heart Basilica
Regis Philbin, who died last week at the age of 88, was buried at Notre Dame University, his name and surname.
The host of the television was shut down after private funeral services at the university, a school spokesman said.
The commemoration of Philbin took place in the Sacred Heart Basilica of the school. He was buried in the Cedar Grove Cemetery on campus.

“The Philbine family wanted to return Regis to a place he loved so much for funerals and burials,” Dennis Brown said in a press release.
“It happened on Wednesday, and he is now resting in peace at Notre Dame.”
A brilliant television host and personality in 1953. He graduated from Catholic University and was an enthusiastic alumni.
He frequently returned to South Bend, an Indiana town during football games, rallies, banquets, concerts and other events, the South Bend Tribune reported.

In a statement this week, school president John Jenkins praised Philbin for his dedication to the school.
