Report: Teenagers Submit Google Docs From A Performance Tool to a Hot Chat Program

As seen from Allo's death earlier this week, and the future wear and tear of Plus users, Google has tried and failed to be socially fit. But now it seems that the company accidentally found itself in Google Docs.

Atlantic today describes in detail how Google Docs is a "hot" way for today's teenagers to talk. These young users usually don't use the built-in live chat (which most teachers don't know), but using real-time collaborative nature that allows many people to add text to the document at the same time.

Some kids create Doc for the day, share them with friends, and then delete when you're done. Finally, documents are a long stream of sentences and paragraphs, and consumers are distinguished by the choice of different fonts.

Teens told me that they use Google Docs to talk almost any time they need to turn off their phone but know their friends will be on computers

Meanwhile, the main part of the G Suite app is productivity appearance. Combined with using Chromebook computers and allowing the use of a laptop, children use Google shared documents, sometimes cloning them from a teacher to get further work to communicate in class or learning. [1

They will clone the teacher's general Google document, and then speak in the comments, so in a causal viewer, they "just write down the lesson plan. If the teacher looks closely, they can click on the "Resolve" button and the entire thread will disappear.

With this "Fixed" feature, Google Docs and all other G Suite apps, e.g. vaguely ephemeral and reflecting Instagram or Instagram stories.

9–5 Google Take

Full Atlantic is an impressive reading, and while there is an obvious joke about Google in another messaging program, there are some insights: [19659003] Unlike a messaging program, Google Docs is a sophisticated program that includes menus, toolbars, and hidden features. However, children who grow up naturally surround the technology and understand it. The simplicity of any product is obviously good and useful for everyone, but it will be interesting to see how technology develops as its consumers become more wise and literate.

One comment from the article was how the children approached the documents when they were to be on the computer. In terms of cross-platform services, Google's messaging applications have historically experienced this. Although Google, as a company, has moved into the mobile era, their social strategy has become quite fixed on phones, which is detrimental to desktop form factors.

Google Allo had no desktop client for several months, and Duo only got one last month. Web messages are a product, but it is associated with highly complex QR code authentication. The RCS will continue to experience the problem, as it is itself intended for a single device and not a cloud. Google should create a better cross-platform solution, especially when Facebook Messenger and iMessage have substantially more modern architectures.
