SYLVANIA (WTVG) – Lucas County Health Department is investigating the first suspected measles case in the region. If this were confirmed, it would be the first case of measles in Ohio.
According to the Department of Health, Sylvania Stranahan Elementary student was taken to ER with what seemed to be measles. Doctors have tested the test, but the results will not be confirmed until next week. According to officials, the student was vaccinated.
The Department of Health had contacted the school and a letter was sent to the parents informing them that any child who had not been vaccinated should stay at home
