A Florida couple has been jailed on charges of violating a mandatory quarantine order after her test was positive for coronavirus, local officials said Thursday.
Jose Antonio Freire Interian (24) and 27-year-old Yohana Anahi Gonzalez were arrested Wednesday night at their Key West apartment and taken to the Stock Island Detention Center.

But neighbors complained that the careless couple broke the rules.
According to a police report, Freire was spotted walking his dog, running to the grocery store and washing the car. Both were seen leaving and returning home without face covers.
The property manager of their apartment complex reported them to Key West police and handed the couple surveillance material from a camera in a common room, the Herald reported.

“The officer took the video to the judge and the judge signed the warrant,” Greg Veliz, head of Key West City, told the newspaper.
The couple were accused of violating state laws requiring isolation or quarantine in a public health emergency, and violations of emergency management.
Both are second-degree offenses punishable by up to 60 days in prison.
Freire and Gonzalez were issued Thursday morning after $ 1,000 bonds each.

Adam Linhardt, a spokesman for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, said the couple behind bars had been separated from other prisoners in “negative pressure” rooms where air was not circulated to other parts of the prison.
“The whole idea is to separate them from the rest of the population,” Linhardt said. “We already had people in those rooms, we didn’t suspect it before. If they show symptoms, then people are quarantined there. “
