The Academy's efforts to rationalize this year's Oscarcast and keep it up to three hours later today confirmed that four categories of trophies will be delivered during commercial breaks
As Pete Hammond reported last week, the best cinematography will be one of categories that will be delivered in cassette and later on at ABC broadcast on February 24th. Others who were revealed today in a letter to members of Academy President John Bailey (read below) are Live Action Short, Movie Editing, and Makeup and Hairstyles. All candidates in each category will be announced together with the winning language. The Academy also confirms that they will be live broadcasts during such commercial breaks so that the audience can also watch live internet with the Dolby Theater.
The Operator's branch indicated how to do this by showing how it can be done. In addition to being a branch manager, Bailey had a piece that was cut as an example of how it would seem and persuaded other board members that it was actually an improvement without losing any dignity or degradation of presentation.
The most affected categories will be changed every year
Here is the letter from Bailey:
Dear Members of the Academy,
After a few months of waiting and much talk, I would like to draw attention to the topic of the topic
Academy Awards Review Models is changing rapidly in our current multimedia world, and our performance must also evolve to continue to promote films to a global audience. It was our main mission since it was founded 91years ago, and today it is the same.
As you recall, last summer the Academy's Board of Governors undertook to show for three hours. However, I want to reiterate that all 24 Academy Awards will be included in the broadcast. We think we have a great way to do it and keep the show up to three hours
Still respecting all 24 awards for Oscars, four categories – Cinematography, Movie Editing, Live Action Short, and Makeup and Hairstyles – will be delivered commercially breaks and their winning languages will be broadcast later.
In addition, with the help of our partner ABC, we will also plan these four awards online so that our worldwide fans enjoy, live with our audience. Fans will be able to watch Oscar.com and Academy's social channels. Live broadcast is our first show and will help you to continue to know and promote these award categories.
The Executive Committees of the Six Branches have opted for their awards to be presented during these slightly modified exhibition periods of this year. and we chose four. In the coming years, four to six different categories can be selected in cooperation with the exhibition producers. (This year's categories will be released from 2020)
The Academy's awards are awarded to the best films and filmmakers of the year. It is an international exhibition filled with great emotions and (hopefully) mixing reception languages. This year, in addition to all five nominated songs, the show will feature Gustavo Dudamel and Los Angeles Philharmonic Concert In Memoriam as part of their centenary celebration
. We are committed to presenting the show, which we are all proud of.
