Warriors player Steph Curry shows love for NBA players again on Twitter

Programming note: Watch “Racing in America: A Sincere Conversation” on Friday, July 31, in NBC Sports Bay, after the end of Giants Postgame Live.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr posted a powerful photo on Twitter last week featuring former Golden State players Devean George and Sleepy Floyd.

Two former Warriors were photographed wearing no. 8 and no. 46 Warriors uniforms showing how long – eight minutes and 46 seconds – former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on George Floyd̵

7;s neck and Floyd died as a result.

So how did this tribute pay off?

Sleepy Floyd explained behind the scenes during the last episode of Race in America: The Candid Conversation, which will air on Friday on NBC Sports Bay after Giants Postgame Live.

“I have a great relationship with the Warriors,” he said. “I’m still doing a lot of community matters – the various projects they’re calling me for. The PR department approached me and they wanted to do something to make an impact.

“I thought it was incredibly beautiful. It’s very creative. So they sent out a t-shirt and we took some photos (with) different angles and different background colors. They basically took them from there.”

The image is now Kerro’s profile photo on Twitter, which may be a great reminder that the fight for racial equality is far from over.

As Sleepy noted, there is still a lot of work to be done.

“Don’t forget. They (the soldiers) want people to memorize it. People still face challenges,” he said. “It ‘s something we have to fight to move forward … in our individual ways, by influencing the community. Having those unpleasant conversations – which I had with a lot of my friends.

“I actually stopped (following) some of my friends from watching some of the things they posted about this whole situation from the beginning.”

Don’t forget to watch the entire conversation this Friday night.
