There are many things I could tell you about the new Otterbox stand for the third generation Amazon Echo Dot smart speaker. I could tell you about its “durable materials” or how they are designed to keep your Echo “safe”. Amazon’s list even states that its “precisely tailored, non-slip base” is “designed for optimal audio transmission.”
But you and I both know that neither of them matters, because what’s really important here is that this base attaches the tiny Emmy-designated baby Yoda * ears to the sides of your Echo Dot. If you want to pretend to be actually talking Mandaloras symbol every time you ask Alexa to set a timer, this is (probably) the easiest way to do it.
The stand is made by Otterbox, the company best known for its smartphone cases, but over the years it has also released a number of interesting device accessories. Here are the rechargeable wireless chargers she announced last year, or phone cases that came with PopSockets-style PopGrips.
The OtterBox Baby Yoda Amazon Echo stand can be pre-ordered from Amazon and is scheduled for release on August 20th. For $ 24.95. For those who watch, this is just under half the price of Amazon Echo Dot itself. The stand is designed to work only with a third-generation smart speaker.
* Yes, I know the character is technically called a “Child,” but please, please, live a little.
